The Icelandic fresh water fishing season is from early April until late October. The fishing in April until late May is primarily for sea trout, brown trout as well as for arctic char. From late May until the end of June the sun stays above the horizon for almost 24 hours. This is truly a lovely time for fishing, as well as being a prime time for enjoying the emerging spring colors and the rich bird life of Iceland. The period of late July until late September is the in general prime season for salmon and sea trout, but sea trout only from late September until the end of the season.
