This is a day tour with a focus set on catching some “good sized” brown trout. The tour is suitable for the experienced fly fishers and the intermediate experienced alike. We do have various options to offer. We are focusing on some of the fisheries outlined below, located approximately 1-2 hour´s drive from Reykjavik. The best option is chosen each time, depending on prime time and availability.

Lake Villingavatn boasts a high percentage of brown trout in the 2lbs-6lbs size category, with several larger ones landed each season. The lake is ideally suited for nymphing, dry fly fishing as well as for fishing with streamers. River “Minni” as usually called is small sensitive and gin clear stream with diverse kind of fishing spots, ideally suited for dry fly fishing and for upstream nymphing. The river boasts a high percentage of brown trout in the 2lbs-6lbs size category with several larger ones landed each season. The fishing is practiced entirely from the riverside or by using waders.
