Lake Ellidavatn – Brown Trout & Arctic Char

Lake Ellidavatn is located within the boundaries of the capital Reykjavik. The lake supports both brown trout and arctic char, usually in size range from 0,5-1 kg.

Several brown trout in size range from 1,5-3,5 kg are caught every season and late summer few salmon as well.

The prime time for lake Ellidavatn runs from the beginning of May until the end of July.

Its discharge is the 5 km long Ellidaar River, which runs trough the capital and frequently among the ten best salmon rivers of the country.
