Lower Jökla – Arctic Char & Trout

The Lower Jökla fishing section is comprising the entire Fögruhlíðará river as well as the lower section of the Jökla river.

This is an exciting option, including fly fishing for sea run arctic char, along with trout fishing and with a good chance of catching salmon. The Lower Jökla is ideal for smaller groups as all the 4 rods are sold together as a package. The fishing season is from June 1st to August 20th.

Fögruhlíðará has sea run arctic char and sea trout fresh off the tide in the tidal pools, plus brown trout and salmon in the main river higher up.

Lower  Jökla has sea-run char and salmon, plus arctic char and brown trout can be found in the exciting junction pool with the Kaldá river.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available with or without food, and either on a room-sharing basis or single occupancy. The Lower Jökla fishing section lodge has 3 twin-rooms and one shared bathroom (room sharing is required if more than three rods are fishing).
