Sea Trout Rivers

Iceland is without a doubt one of the top brown trout fishing destinations in the world. Many of the best sea trout fisheries in Iceland, are situated close to the south coastline, roughly between the two villages Vik and Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

The prime season for the sea-run brown trout is in April and May when the fish is making their way downriver towards the ocean for feeding, and then again around mid August-October when the sea trout return upriver from the ocean in preparation for the fall spawning season.
